Getting to MGH from Logan Airport

The most convenient ground transportation from Logan International Airport is by taxicab.

  • Accessible taxis for persons with disAbilities and credit card taxis are both available, upon request;

  • Make sure to get a Boston taxi -- they are metered ("Boston Lic. Taxi" will be printed on side of the cab);

  • In addition to the fare, you will be charged $ 7.50 in various airport and tunnel fees;

  • The total fare will probably be between $20 - 25.00 depending on your arrival terminal and Boston's ever entertaining traffic jams.

Public Transportation

If you are traveling light, and have energy and an adventurous spirit, you can also get to the hospital on public transportation.

  • When leaving your airport terminal, follow the "Ground Transportation," and "The Silver Line" signs.
    • The "Silver Line" is a special bus that will take you from the airport to Boston's South Station.
    • (South Station is a transportation centre, featuring a subway station, a bus station, a commuter rail station and an Amtrak station)
  • The fare is $ 2.00 -- you will need the exact fare, as the drivers do not carry change.
  • Once at South Station, follow signs directing you to the subway "Red Line", Inbound (heading to Alewife). The Red Line subway ride will be short -- three stops -- to the Charles/MGH Station.
  • Turn right as you exit the station;
  • MGH's Yawkey Building is directly across the street.
