There are several hotels within a mile of MGH. In order of distance from the hospital:

• The recently opened (2008) Liberty Hotel is right next door to MGH's Yawkey Building

• The Holiday Inn at Beacon Hill/Government Center is about a block away from MGH's Wang Building [5 Blossom Street at Cambridge Street, Tel: (877) 410-6681];


• The Bulfinch Hotel is a small, relatively new neighborhood hotel, located less than 0.5 miles from MGH [107 Merrimac Street, Tel: (617) 624-0202].


• Two blocks beyond The Bulfinch, is the Onyx Hotel which opened in 2004 [155 Portland Street, Tel: (617) 557-9955].


• There is also an intimate hotel, called the Beacon Hill Hotel, about 5 blocks down Charles Street from the Yawkey Building entrance [25 Charles Street, Tel: (617) 723-7575].

   Additionally, there are many hotels in the Government Center area (approx. 1 mile away), in the Prudential Center complex (approx. 1.5 miles away), in the new Seaport District (approx. 2.5 miles away), and in Charlestown, MA (approx. 1.5 miles away).

   You may find slightly more reasonable prices at hotels in Cambridge, MA.

• The Royal Sonesta is just across the Charles River from the Hospital [40 Edwin Land Boulevard, Tel: (617) 806-4200];


• There is also a Marriott Hotel [Two Cambridge Center, 50 Broadway; Tel: (617) 494-6600 ]; and


• a Residence Inn by Marriott [6 Cambridge Center, Tel: (617) 349-0700].

   If you will be in Boston for only a few days, and if you are of modest means (and, if you are seeking medical treatment for cancer), you may be eligible for a special offer provided by the Westin Hotel at Copley Place.

• Contact the American Cancer Society at (508) 270-4667 to submit an application for the Westin Guestroom Program.
• (They generally request that the application be submitted at least 2 weeks before your anticipated arrival date; please, do not contact the Westin directly)
